Happy Birthday

The calls start rolling in the text messages all saying happy birthday. Birthday wishes from all corners; friends, families and loved ones all singing, happy birthday. A day of joy and happiness and a day of great importance in one's life; a day one looks back and remember the day one was given birth to. I said to myself, what about the day? What is the significance of this so much celebrated day? What about the day? Is it just a day to remember and be happy or a day to look back and say, I still have a lot to achieve ahead. To some, it is a day of merry: drinking, eating, dancing etc, a day to gather loved ones and spend time together. Happy Birthday!!! What about the day?

Should it be a day to be dedicated to thanking God and one's parents for giving birth to one? Thanking them for the pains they went through in bringing us up and providing for us when we were very little, the agony of mother and the pains of the father all in the name of giving us a promising future. Never think less of yourself because if you do, you are insulting your creator; and that would be unfair to the one who invested much in you. He believed in you and that is why he created you; so that you could showcase his glory. He believed and still believes in you and that is why He created you.Many happy returns..
